Eating Out

Eating out is a joy in the many local ristorante and generally very cheap. These are a few of our favourites:

SANTINA's

San Cassiano (up the hill). No menu,no tourists... just locals and Santina's delicious home cooking.

VILLA AURORA

Casabasciana - take the road towards Bagni di lucca look out for a sign leading you left up the hillside. This is a lovely family restaurant with a wonderful terrazza overlooking glorious valley and mountain views.

For something more special, you will need to head further afield:

IL BUCA DI SANT'ANTONIO

Via della Cervia 3, Lucca (00 39 0583 55881). This old coaching inn has been in business for more than a century, and has a Michelin star for its Tuscan food. Closed Sunday evening and all day Monday.

IL TROIA

Via Porcellana, 25/r Florence (0039 0552 12691). Tiny, hidden and informal - nevertheless a true gastronomic delight!
